Alan Yu pursues his passion of culinary creations from the family kitchen to the numerous distinguished restaurants, bringing a modern approach of combining ingredients and techniques from a variety of cuisines. Alan was introduced into the world of Asian Fusion at Asia Nora, Washington DC. Coming from a traditional Asian background, he was able to create explosively flavorful food using over 100 different organic products, herbs and spices.
In 1997, Alan made his transition to classic French cooking at Citronelle. There he unleashed his creativity by introducing traditional Asian style dishes with modern French technique into culminating creations such as Crackling Pig stuffed with Truffles and Foie Gras. Alan joined Richard Sandoval’s Zengo to bring new creations coupling Asian and Latin flavors using a modern approach. Alan most recently worked at Pauli Moto’s Asian Bistro in Virginia.
