Having spent his early years in Malaysia, Peng S.Looi developed a refined appreciation of fine food and ultimately a passion for expressing his own culinary vision. In 1987 Looi partnered with Ms. Mimi Ha-Dabbagh to open what was soon to become the award-winning restaurant August Moon Chinese Bistro, featuring Chinese cuisine with the South East Asian influences that reflect his ethnic background.
He opened his second restaurant, the upscale casual Asiatique (with partner Mr. Pabs Sembillo), where he serves his innovative and artful interpretation of Pacific Rim dishes.
