Nobuyuki Matsuhisa – known to the world simply as “Nobu” – is the acclaimed and highly influential chef proprietor of Nobu, Matsuhisa and Ubon restaurants located across three continents. When he opened Matsuhisa in California, it was virtually an overnight success and Nobu quickly achieved fame within the culinary community.
Nobu partnered with actor Robert De Niro and restaurateur Drew Nieporent to open “NOBU”, New York, in 1994. NOBU received glowing reviews as well from food critics. Nobu is also the author of two cookbooks; nobu the cookbook, which was nominated for Best Food Photography by the James Beard Foundation in 2002, and recently Nobu Now.
