Originally from Seattle, Bill Tocantins went to college in Boston and began working in restaurants shortly thereafter. He then moved on to Conecticut, New York and Los Angeles. While in a Los Angeles restaurant, he invented Ginger Margaritas and saw that they were very successful. It wasn’t much of a leap to then make Ginger Martinis, Ginger Mojitos and eventually “Gingerize” ™. The quick and easy Gingerita proved to be equally useful in foods for salad dressings and marinades and more. Preparing for production, the adventure then shifted to find the best Ginger Root in the world. The results pointed to a new concept. He contracted farmers in Hawaii to grow Ginger Root for him. Now a new invention can grow to be a brand. It is really a product for this era.
The following is a list of recipes by Bill Tocantins:

Hi Bill- Doubt very highly you remember me. Circa 1983-4? NYC, upper west side. We had many cocktails at a Columbus Ave. restaurant and searched for my lost earring in the snow- must have been winter- ya think. I remember your off-West End Ave apt. with loft-bed (mmmm), I think we waited tables together somewhere, I’m a strawberry blond- then 20, now, well… you do the math. I confused with with an actor Bill Irwin (played Pickles in 3rd Rock from the Sun and a “player” in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”) but alas was not you. Went on-line and realized that you are the Ginger Mojito man extraordinaire! Still handsome! You probably don’t remember me, but like people with Alzheimer’s I remember you. No pick-ups intended, other happy members of household- just saying hello. Ciao, Susan
